determination of antibody response against inactivated
Authors
abstract
an inactivated agalactia vaccine was prepared with mycoplasma agalactiae in fermenter. the culture was inactivated and subsequently adjuvanted with aluminum hydroxide gel. four sheep and four goats were immunized with the experimental vaccine. two doses of 1ml of vaccine were administered three weeks interval. monthly, blood samples were taken from the vaccinated animals up to the fifth month along with hyperimmune and negative controls. elisa was set up and sera were assayed against lorestan live antigen. results indicated that antibodies were determined in vaccinated sheep and goats with the maximum overall mean titres of 1.25 and 1.028, at one month post-vaccination and minimum mean titres of 0.674 and 0.538 respectively.

full textDetermination of Humoral Immune Response in Chickens Against Formalin-Inactivated Alum-Precipitated Fowl Cholera Vaccine
We measured the humoral immune response in chickens against a formalin-inactivated alum-precipitated fowl cholera vaccine. The vaccine was administered in 12 weeks old chickens, 5×10 7 CFU/ml/chicken intramuscularly. Booster dose was given with similar dose and route at 15, 30 and 45 days intervals in groups A, B and C, respectively, after primary vaccination. The group D served as unvaccinated...
full textQuantitative review of antibody response to inactivated seasonal influenza vaccines
BACKGROUND Seasonal influenza epidemics are associated with significant morbidity and mortality each year, particularly amongst young children and the elderly. Seasonal influenza vaccines have been available for decades, yet influenza remains a major public health threat in the US, sparking interest in studies evaluating the effectiveness of vaccination. OBJECTIVES We sought to identify deter...
full textAntibody response against hydatid fluid, protoscolex and whole body of Echinococcus granulosus antigens in lambs
In this study, the immunogenicity of three types of antigens (hydatid fluid, protoscolices and whole body of E. granulosus) was investigated in lambs by ELISA. Sixteen 4–6-month-old lambs of mixed sexes were divided into 4 groups of 4 lambs (three immunized and one control group). Twelve lambs as immunized groups received 2 mg of hydatid fluid, protoscolices and whole body of E. granulosus ant...
full textThe Antibody Response against HIV-1.
Neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) typically play a key role in controlling viral infections and contribute to the protective effect of many successful vaccines. In the case of HIV-1 infection, there is compelling data in experimental animal models that NAbs can prevent HIV-1 acquisition, although there is no similar data in humans and their role in controlling established infection in humans is al...
full textPotency determination of inactivated H7 influenza vaccines using monoclonal antibody‐based ELISA and biolayer interferometry assays
BACKGROUND The single radial immunodiffusion (SRID) assay, the accepted method for determining potency of inactivated influenza vaccines, measures an immunogenic form of the influenza hemagglutinin. Nevertheless, alternative methods for measuring vaccine potency have been explored to address some of the weaknesses of the SRID assay, including limited sensitivity and the requirement for large am...
